Black Ice CPD is the craft ice division of Ice-Cubed, a Manchester-based ice merchant and an existing client of Get Fletch. Craft ice is growing in popularity in high-end restaurants and bars. It’s used by mixologists to enhance their cocktails and the drinker’s cocktail experience. Craft ice is crystal-clear ice made by directional freezing.
The website Brief
Chas, the owner of Black Ice CPD, knew what he wanted the website to look and feel like. The budget was tight, and we didn’t hit the brief the first time. Having previously worked with Ice Cubed, we paused, regrouped in the pub for a few afternoon stouts, thrashed out what the new website should be like, and then got back to development. New photography was commissioned on 35mm film to give the required aesthetic.
The Website
Using the commissioned photography and our tried-and-tested WordPress theme, we created a seemingly simple website integrating Chas’s Instagram feed and press coverage, we also showcased the premium brands that use Black Ice CPD. Photo galleries were an important aspect of this website, and we showcased a few of the unique ice shapes and products available from Black Ice CPD using blueprint diagrams.
