WooCommerce

WooCommerce works with WordPress and we are experts in developing websites running both WordPress and WooCommerce. WooCommerce runs 28% of all online stores worldwide.

Like WordPress, WooCommerce is an open source and the Get Fletch team can fully customise to your needs. The popularity of WooCommerce means many ecommerce themes (looks and feel) and plugins to carry out specialists’ tasks with WooCommerce, this mean we can cut your development bill as a lot of the coding has already been complete.

A few other advantages of using WordPress & WooCommerce

  • It’s free and open source. This is something that should attract any business to WordPress
  • Highly scalable so that it can expand and grow with your business.
  • Fast page loading speed. Page load speed is a new Google metric so considerations need to be meet this
  • Can be updated from anywhere, using a web browser or smartphone app.
  • Regular updates. One thing you should be looking for in any content management system is whether the designer is going to keep it up to date. The open source nature of WordPress means that it is updated regularly.
  • A huge choice of plug-ins.
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Our opinion

At this time, If you’re already running WordPress then this is the solution. WooCommerce is huge with many extensions to enhance it further

Shopify

This is the cool option! Shopify is nice to use and is trusted by over 1 million businesses worldwide. We have developed several different ecommerce websites using Shopify and they all look modern, trustworthy and visually appealing to any customers.

What we like about Shopify:

  • Good looking, modern and visually appealing websites
  • Simple and easy to use backend
  • Excellent speed loading (fast servers)
  • Security – we’ve never experienced a security problem using Shopify.
  • Reliability –
  • Highly scalable
  • Easy payment integration
  • Great SEO results
  • Instore integration if required
Our opinion

At this time, Shopify is a very sleek, safe and reliable ecommerce platform but where Shopify will be in a few years is the opportunity for ambitious and growing ecommerce retailers.

The technology available for ecommerce is expanding and what you can do now with your site is through plugins and extensions including:

  • Remarketing – advertise to customers who have visited your website on other sites.
  • Abandon carts technology – when a customer adds products to their baskets but doesn’t make a purchase – you can follow up with emails or allow customer to recover the abandoned cart
  • Using Google and Facebook to create customer accounts as a login
  • Facebook Pixel – this collects data from your website that helps you track conversions and remarketing on Facebook. The Pixel can also help you create lookalike audiences making it easier to find potential new customers.
  • Google Shopping – advertise your product links direct on Google

Big Commerce – we’re hearing good things about, if you are looking to develop in BigCommerce I can offer a very competitive build estimate.
