Proud in Pride

Various pride campaigns by insurance companies using the Link logo designed by Get Fletch

Last year the Get Fletch team concluded the brand evolution and rebrand for Link the LGBTQ+ Insurance Network. Seeing the Link branding sit so strongly with some of the biggest names in Insurance in the UK makes my team and I immensely proud.

Here’s the testimonial from Link’s Chair:

“Get Fletch were able to deliver a fantastic website, on time and on budget. The ongoing support has been great, especially as Link is a volunteer-based network, where volunteers have limited time to support. Updates are made promptly, and the team has been on hand to support and deliver on several initiatives since the website was overhauled. As well as a redesign and re-platform of the website, Get Fletch supported with a rebrand and design of a great, fresh new logo and colour palette. With our new website, we are better placed to promote our fantastic work and grow the network.”

Link’s mission is to make the insurance industry the employer of choice for the LGBTQ+ community, I got involved with Link through my insurance affiliate business GB Quotes, the insights I get from networking gives CEE Digital an edge over our competitors and I’ve made some great friends. The equivalent in the advertising sector is Outvertising https://www.outvertising.org/

Major events last year meant that no pride London took place, this year marks the 50th Anniversary of pride in the UK. This year London pride is going ahead bigger than ever, even the Royal Mint has made a commemorative Pride 50p piece

Pride is a political event but one with massive smiles that celebrates the full spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community.

Brands at pride

Let’s talk about brands at pride, every year we hear negative comments about all the brands taking part in pride, even the police marching at pride receive negative comments “why aren’t you out catching robbers?”. My point to every single one of these people is that these brands and corporate organisations taking part have LGBTQ+ employees and allies, who are marching, not the brand. What some of these people don’t realise is that to march in pride costs money so the brand is just paying for it! Excluding the massively expensive Manchester Pride, Pride is usually a free event and to put on Pride with acts needs to be paid for. The brands paying for their employees to take part in pride have a huge brand association and brand positioning benefits but I’d say one of the biggest benefits is internal, it’s about employee experience so ignore the haters. Finally, let’s not forget the massive amount of money that is raised for charity by Pride.

Pride Brand Logos

Changing your logo to pride colours doesn’t mean you support pride. We’re happy to quote to change your logo to rainbow colours but we will ask you what you are doing to support pride! Click here to get a quote

Now, where are those 20k brand update and website redesign briefs? If I don’t ask, I won’t get!

Notes

If you haven’t seen the Joe Lycett trolling Tom Daily about being sponsored by Barclays to go to Pride, I had tears of laughter at this https://youtu.be/cOE4LkRTqxA
