Search Engine Optimisation
You’ll hear “Content, Content Content!” or “Content is King” which is true, however first you need to get the basics of SEO right.
Here at Get Fletch, we build websites that Google likes! We follow all the latest best practices, keep up-to-date with the latest SEO techniques, and build websites that can outperform larger competitors with bigger budgets.
One of our most important SEO tools for this is Google Search Console. Google Search Console is a tool that reports on the traffic coming to your website and identifies issues that could affect your website in search results. Google Search Console allows us to identify search queries that visitors have used to reach your website, which gives us vital information on where we should focus our SEO efforts.
SEO for WordPress
Yoast is our go-to plugin to help us make WordPress more SEO friendly. Using Yoast we can optimise your WordPress website with more effective titles and descriptions plus much more. We’ve been using Yoast for over 6 years and know it well!
In addition, Google has released Google Site Kit which we can install on your website which then links together Google Analytics, Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, and Google Tag Manager (there are more but these are our main uses).

Local SEO
Local SEO is about improving our clients’ search results and visibility online in their area. For some of our clients, they are a local or regional business meaning that having high search scores nationally isn’t important (but nice to have). The rise of the ‘near me’ search term is something that you need to be aware of and be on top of. With all SEO work, it is important to get the basics of your website perfected in order to have any chance of getting improved results. An SEO audit may be necessary to remove any problems or find ‘quick wins’.
The most important tool we use to help with local SEO is Google My Business. It is also worth noting the Bing has Bing Places for Business which is similar. A Facebook business page will also help with your local SEO.
We cannot stress enough; your Google reviews are important! If you are struggling to make an impact locally. Let’s have a chat.
SEO Audit
An SEO Audit with Get Fletch will look at your current website and how it performs both on and off-page. We then produce a report of all the improvements that need to be made in line with your keywords or key phrases. We will always take into consideration the competition because it is important to know what they are doing and where they stand.
- Detection of penalties, duplicate content, or unhealthy volume of keywords and overall management of your search console from major search engines.
- Closely monitor the content that may be hidden through scripts. Good knowledge of programming ensures that your SEO specialist can look at your page from the eyes of search engine bots to ensure indexing.
- Site speed load monitoring.
- Analysis of on-page factors that are favoured by Google bots.
- Identification of issues and reporting.
- Link-building. We will ensure that you have healthy backlinks coming from other websites, that relate to your business. Also ensuring link-building within your website.
- Traffic from social media helps boost your website on page ranks. Although much debated, we cannot simply abandon the idea.
- Analysis of your local SEO.
Ongoing SEO
SEO is not a one-off task. If you want results that last, the most important thing you should know is; it takes time! You will be looking at least three months before you will start to see any improvements. If you want instant results, our recommendation is to use Google Ads. If someone offers instant results they are either lying or want to do something dodgy (black hat) which Google will probably punish you with a penalty further down the line.
Our Ongoing SEO covers:
- Plan, develop and implement an SEO strategy on a weekly basis to ensure the health of high-ranking pages and landing pages.
- Work towards organic search optimisation and ROI maximisation. Organic traffic plays an important role in maximising your lead generation and conversion rates.
- Regularly perform thorough keywords research on a weekly basis.
- Identify key SEO KPIs.
- Monitor redirects, click rate, bounce rate, and other KPIs.
- Prepare and present reports regularly on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Identify our buyer persona to achieve better target identified audiences.
- Identify problems and deficiency, and implement solutions in a timely manner
- Suggest improvements in process and productivity optimisation
- Collaborate with your existing web developers and marketing team
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO and digital marketing latest trends and best practices

Link Building
You need high-quality links to your website if you are going to compete. link building is the process of acquiring hyperlinks from other websites to yours and not just any old links, the better the linking website, the most impact it will have on your SEO ranking.
This video explains all about link building: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNHR6IQJGZs
The link building process starts with us understanding your business. We can then start to build relationships (you might already have these) with relevant websites. These could be blogs, news sites, etc. which build high-quality links back to your website. You need to consider why a website will want to link to yours, so you must add value or have compelling/interesting/unique content.
Link building is not a one-off thing. If you want results that last. The most important thing you should know is, it takes time! You will be looking at least three months before you will start to see any improvements. If you want instant results, then use Google Ads.

Content
You will hear this mentioned a lot! This is what is on your website or what you publish on your social media. YouTubers call themselves ‘content creators’ and they’re making a lot of money from it.
Any part of your website, social media posts, and videos is content.
Content marketing is using that content to promote you, your products, or services to meet a marketing goal e.g. attract new customers, remind existing customers, or create awareness. From experience, we find it best to set a theme then use three or four content variations to get your message across consistently and then repeat the content.
A few quick ideas for content
- Blog posts
- Photos
- Infographics
- Videos
It’s going to take time to get results. Even what appears to be an ‘overnight success’ haven’t usually blown up overnight (unless you’re a celebrity and do something newsworthy that night)
With any content for a promotion, we must keep in mind the objectives e.g. new customer enquiries, quotes, footfall, sales.

Keyword Research
Keyword research is finding and looking at search terms that people are searching for in search engines. We conduct keyword research to learn which terms people are using to search with an aim to discover some new queries that are maybe less competitive for our clients to dominate with. This keyword research can help where to focus on the content or ads.
With the growth of smart devices such as Google Home or Alexa what people are searching for is changing.
We enjoy using Google trends, but this can only show you what has happened in the past (the problem with most data)
